Turning my idle doodling into a fundraiser for cancer research.

I’ve made a ton of social media content to promote the whole thing, and scored 500 IG followers right out of the gate. I’ve also done lots of Meta advertising, and learned a whole lot about the algorithm in the process.

And I’ve been able to balance the need for SEO and best practices with maintaining the distinctly deadpan tone of voice I’ve created for the brand.

I often draw doodles of various animals in meetings in order to appear to be taking copious notes. Post-meeting, I usually show them to a co-worker or two, which always brings on a chuckle.

One day I thought to myself, "Since people like these, I should put these doodles on shirts!"  So I did.  And thus was born Lo-Fi Animal Shirts.

And since I recently lost both my father and one of my best friends to cancer, I thought I’d use the whole idea to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Thus far I’ve sold over $20,000 worth of tee shirts, hoodies, mugs and other stuff, and donated 5% to the American Cancer Society. Which is a good thing.
